Community-based Pathologists Adopting Best Practice™ Partnership Program

More than two dozen Partners rely on CBLPath and the industry convergence – Keeping Medicine Local™

7/1/2011

RYE BROOK, N.Y. — Since the launch of the Best Practice Partnership Program in September 2010 at the CAP ’10 meeting, CBLPath has enjoyed double-digit growth in the number of Partners using the Program – Keeping Medicine Local. By partnering with CBLPath, community-based pathologists are winning back market share previously lost to large, centralized anatomic pathology laboratories.

The Best Practice Partnership Program is comprised of a full range of business and technology services enabling community-based pathologists to more successfully compete against sub-specialized, larger, centralized testing laboratories. The program consists of five components: Sales and Marketing; LabIS®, CBLPath’s proprietary pathology management system; Medical Operations; Lab Operations; and Managed Care and Billing.

CBLPath has a unique leadership position in the industry convergence of anatomic, molecular and digital pathology. Beginning from a clinical perspective, the company harnesses molecular testing and digital pathology on an anatomic pathology foundation. CBLPath enables Best Practice Partners to embrace the convergence to deliver better medicine, faster. Partners have access to more than 30 board-certified sub-specialty pathologists, accurate and definitive molecular testing, and landmark digital pathology systems. Through Best Practice, community-based pathologists are able to provide better medicine to their patients and a wider breadth of service to their own clients.

To help Partners take advantage of the value digital pathology offers, CBLPath is preparing to launch an industry leading tool set that will make requesting and realizing virtual consults quick and easy. This tool set will reside within LabIS, a powerful and complete pathology management, result generation, and report delivery system that includes an integrated, best-in-class digital pathology interface.

CBLPath will host an industry workshop focused on the Best Practice Partnership Program at this year’s CAP ’11 meeting. The event, Effectively Competing as a Community-based Pathology Practice, will be held Monday, September 12, at 6:15 p.m. For more information and to register, please go to www.cap.org/cap11.
