CBLPath, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is privileged to include Agedi Boto, M.D., Ph.D., as a part of its dynamic medical staff. Dr. Boto is a board-certified pathologist who brings professional medical experience in a variety of settings and extensive subspecialized training in breast and gynecologic pathology.

Dr. Boto graduated with his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Caltech in Pasadena, California. He earned his medical and doctoral degrees at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. He served his residency in anatomic pathology in the Yale Department of Pathology in New Haven, Connecticut. He then completed a fellowship in breast and gynecological pathology, also in the Yale Department of Pathology. Following his fellowship, he was a postdoctoral associate in the Yale Department of Immunobiology.

Dr. Boto started as an autopsy attending at the Yale New Haven Hospital. He then held the position of chief medical officer at HistoWiz, a biotechnology firm specializing in histopathology. He was a clinical consultant for Pathology Lab of Georgia while also holding an academic appointment as a clinical assistant professor in the SUNY Downstate pathology department in Brooklyn, New York. Prior to joining CBLPath, Dr. Boto was a staff pathologist with Fairfield County Pathologists at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport, CT, and Gastroenterology Associates of Fairfield PC in Fairfield, CT. He was also the director of anatomic pathology with Fairfield County Pathology Consultants, St. Vincent’s Hospital. 

Dr. Boto has a robust list of published peer-reviewed manuscripts, presentations, and a book. He coauthored the book Soft Tissue Pathology: A Question and Answer Based Review. He has published papers in journals such as Cell, Human Pathology, and Nature Communications, among others. He has presented at international conferences, including the American Association of Cancer Research and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.

Dr. Boto is a fellow of the College of American Pathologists. 

Dr. Boto holds full medical licensure and is board certified in anatomic pathology.
